Katie Hueth shares how a deep-rooted desire to support individuals struggling with substance use disorder helped inspire her current career path.
In her adolescent years, Katie witnessed those around her battle substance use disorder.
A global addiction endemic seemed to surround her, and the people she loved came to her for support during their most pivotal moments.
After realizing she had both the ability and desire to comfort those dealing with substance use disorder, she decided to pursue a psychology degree and develop the proper skillset to help those suffering from addictive disorders and abusive relationships.
Today, Katie is the Prevention Education Coordinator at Ocean County College where she counsels and aids students in the prevention of substance use disorder, suicide and domestic/sexual violence. She also works to address the stigma surrounding recovery while implementing prevention education on campus.
Katie is dedicated to helping others transform their lives for the better. And, with each new day, Katie’s story continues to inspire us – and we are sure it will inspire you.
